Jane, recent review on Thumbtack:
I like that Bob really believes in me and sees things in me that I haven't been able to really see in myself. He's really expanding the way I'm seeing music as a whole and it's making me a better all around musician. He continues to push me and every time I think I've reached my limit, he breaks down the next barrier. His patience is much appreciated, and his teaching skills are rubbing off on me as I have recently begun to be open to the idea of teaching others myself. That's the level of confidence he has been able to instill in me.

Bob is a great teacher! He knows what you need to know and you've learned something new after every lesson. He's also a great help in finding good lesson books and even instruments! I currently learning 2 instruments from him guitar and bass. He's been a great help in not only teaching both but helping me apply my guitar skills and knowledge to the bass.

I am a new student with Bob and brand new to music and the upright bass. Bob has welcomed me to this new world with enthusiastic teaching, his vast experiences in bands and orchestras big and small, some more serious and others more light. He makes the art of music interesting and inviting, and the joy of music relaxed and comfortable.
I continue to look forward to each lesson.
Sean Freeman: Director of Engineering, Harris Corporation, Musician and Owner of Music Store:
As a long-time musician myself (bass and guitar), and having known Bob for many years, I selected him to teach my daughter cello and piano. Bob helped my daughter with some cello basics and then found an excellent teacher to help her continue where his expertise with the cello ended. He also taught her the piano.
His style of teaching instilled a love for the instrument and making music in my daughter. His style integrates the basics of different techniques into usable pieces of music to encourage the student to play, especially for others - a significant factor in a performance art. I am happy to say that Bob's tutelage helped to instill a life-long love for the piano in my daughter and I can often find her sitting at the piano making music.
I highly recommend Bob as a teacher and also to help in the selection of an appropriate musical instrument. His understanding of the real-world requirements that must be found in a musical instrument are also key to ensuring that the student will be successful. There are many "instruments" for sale that will NOT help a student to progress and learn - Bob will clearly steer you away from those and help you find a suitable instrument within your price range.

| Bob played in the Florida Swingtime Big Band and did a wonderful job. Swingtime plays all types of music and our large audiences enjoyed this very much. Bob took care of all of the bass or guitar parts and added greatly to the sound of this big band. Bob can teach you a lot if you want to learn.

| Bob was my first guitar teacher and my sister's first guitar teacher. Years later he guided my decade long journey as a professional musician. His forte is customizing the lesson to what the student desires to learn while also building a solid musical foundation. The core of his holistic approach is to use songs the student wishes to learn to also teach physical instrument technique, music theory, ear training and rhythm structure. His personal style is very engaging and motivates his students.
Bob is still one of my mentors. For many years I have been pushing Bob to write a music method book. I successfully applied Bob’s approach with my students as well as my child. I would highly recommend Bob as a music teacher. Those who live close enough to study with Bob in person should grab the opportunity.

| Bob Comarow was my guitar teacher for many years. He's the greatest teacher ever. I was so sad when he moved to California. He's a fantastic guitarist himself; he can play ANY kind of music. He's an expert in both music theory and playing technique. As a teacher, he's kind, patient, understanding, and very persistent.
Although he makes the lessons fun, I always walked away knowing much more, and playing much better than when I walked in. Bob takes his direction from his student. By that, I mean that he taught me exactly what I wanted to know, and how to play exactly what I wanted to play, and how to play it well. He also repaired my guitars so they would play better for me! In addition to guitar, he also taught me some bass guitar, string bass and keyboards. He's a total expert in all of those things, too. I highly recommend Bob. If you want to learn music, you can't go wrong with him.

I am a professional Guitarist and have been taking lessons from Bob for a bout 2 months now. I initially contacted Bob because I had reached an impasse with my playing. Within the first couple of lessons I learned to negotiate the fret board with more ease and confidence. Bob has a solid foundation in theory as well as teaching the student the practical application of the theory. I was able to apply the learning material to my playing almost immediately after my lesson.
Bob is very patient and takes the time to explain the material so it is well understood before the lessons are over. I highly recommend Bob to anyone who wants to take their playing to the next level.
